OUR VALUES

FROM THE HEART ❤️

"Antic & Tonic was born out of passion, on a whim, and as a heartfelt cry. And like all creative projects built from scratch, we are learning. We are learning to do better, to do more, and to aim higher.

There is one thing we haven't had to learn because "you either have it or you don't," and that is doing things with heart.

Whether it’s hunting for treasures, designing, engaging with you about the Jewelry, or even selecting our team members, we strive, despite the realities that can shake any project, to make our decisions with passion and heart.

We try to create for you and our team a pleasant and authentic experience zone."

WE STAND BY OUR VALUES

You know the golden rule “treat others the way you want to be treated”. As we love everything gold, we try our best to stand for our values:  treat you, our colleagues and our planet with our best intentions.

Vintage Jewelry are second-hand pieces so except the shipping, the impact is quite low for the environment.

Regarding our own collection, it is important to accept that any kind of craft and production has an impact on this earth

Nonetheless, we made specific choices regarding our impact, here are five choices that we stand for:

5 STEPS TO RESPONSIBLE JEWELS

1. Responsible Jewelry Council

The first choice was to choose a manufacturer from the Responsible Jewellery Council, the world’s leading sustainability standard setting organization for the jewelry and watch industry.

2. Recycled Silver

The second choice was to use exclusively recycled silver, which is actually more expensive to obtain that regular silver in many parts of the world.

3. Gold Plating

The third choice was to be strict on the quality of the gold plating. The price of gold is more or less the same all over the world, which means that manufacturers don’t make tremendous profit between 1 micron and 5 micron. Therefore they are usually not keen on adding extra microns, but we always insist. It’s a durable choice, the pieces are more expensive and time consuming to produce but they will last much longer.

4. Quantity

The fourth choice is quantity: we chose to not produce large amounts of pieces to limit the chances of waste, returns, and defects with the manufacturers.

5. Sustainable Packaging

The fifth choice is the packaging: our boxes are produced in limited quantities and make use of paper and cardboard. Our envelopes are fully produced from wool waste without petrochemical products (they are super soft!).
